In a significant development, President Bola Tinubu inaugurated three pivotal projects sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) at The Polytechnic, Ibadan on Friday. Represented by the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, President Tinubu took a moment to laud the institution for its commendable role in shaping the education of Nigerian youths.

Acknowledging the Polytechnic's status as one of the pioneer institutions in the country, President Tinubu expressed his appreciation, stating, "Being one of the pioneer Polytechnics in the country, this institution has done a commendable job in the growth of the Nigerian youth."

Emphasizing his administration's unwavering commitment to quality education, Tinubu highlighted various initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing the education sector. He praised TETFund for effectively fulfilling its mandate by providing crucial funding for Nigerian tertiary institutions.

"It is not by mistake that TETFund is being generous to the Polytechnic of Ibadan. It is a mother Polytechnic and it has given rise to all sorts of offsprings, and it is one of the sources of academic excellence in Nigeria," noted President Tinubu.

TETFund's Executive Secretary, Mr Sonny Echono, echoed the government's commitment to bolstering physical infrastructure in public tertiary institutions. Represented by Mr Babatunde Olajide, Director of Monitoring and Evaluation at TETFund, Echono emphasized the alignment of these efforts with President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

"At TETFund, it is our commitment to ensure that value is obtained for funds allocated to the benefiting institutions, aiding teaching, learning, and research to make them globally competitive," stated Echono. He underscored the significance of Polytechnic Ibadan, particularly in training technology-based courses with a focus on technical skills acquisition and applied research.
