In a devastating road accident on Thursday, a 26-year-old female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Sanni Mariam, lost her life alongside other passengers and the driver as their vehicle met with a tragic accident en route to Lagos.
Mariam, a vibrant member of the 2023 Batch C Stream 2, had recently completed three weeks of compulsory orientation at the NYSC camp in Benue State. The accident occurred as she was returning from her state of deployment to Lagos, where she had boarded a commercial bus passing through Imo.

Hailing from Benin Republic, Mariam was a Computer Science graduate from Universite Protestante de Lafrique de l’Ouest. She had already made a mark in her NYSC journey, winning numerous awards for her platoon, including excelling in the Scrabble platoon game.
