UDUS 100-Level Students Express Concern Over Clash Between GST C.A Timetable and Matriculation Ceremony

A recent announcement by the General Studies (GST) Division has sparked concern among 100-level students at a Nigerian university. The GST Continue Assessment (C.A) timetable, scheduled to take place from April 7 to 10, 2025, coincides with the matriculation ceremony, leaving students in a dilemma.
Many students, including Sixtus Emmanuel from the Department of Environmental Management, have expressed feelings of confusion and frustration. Emmanuel stated that he would prioritize his academics over the matriculation ceremony, but hopes the date will be rescheduled.
Other students, such as Haliya, Jimoh Zainab Babaita, Sulyman Aishat Olomoyoo, and Mbaekube Chiamaka Mary Cynthia, have also shared their concerns. They have appealed to the GST Division to adjust the C.A timetable to avoid clashing with the matriculation ceremony, allowing students to participate in both events without undue stress.
The students' concerns highlight the need for careful planning and coordination to ensure that academic and ceremonial events do not conflict, allowing students to fully engage with and enjoy their university experience.
