UDUS Admits Fewer Students in 2023/2024 Academic Session

Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) matriculated 3,500 students for the 2023/2024 academic session on May 26, 2024, as reported in the university's bulletin. This is a significant decrease from the 5,962 students admitted in the previous 2022/2023 academic session.

The Faculty of Chemical and Life Sciences admitted 724 students this session compared to 1,421 last session. The Faculty of Education and Extension Services saw a drop from 1,015 to 467 students.

The College of Health Sciences admitted 610 students, down from 625 last session. The Faculty of Agriculture admitted 227 students this session, compared to 549 previously.

Other faculties also experienced declines: Physical and Computing Sciences (316 from 523), Social Sciences (282 from 460), Arts (116 from 316), Management Sciences (196 from 271), Arabic and Islamic Studies (126 from 249), Law (80 from 122), Veterinary Medicine (78 from 113), and Pharmaceutical Science (116 from 197).

Only the Faculty of Engineering and Environmental Design saw an increase, admitting 112 students this session, up from 101 last session.
