UNIABUJA Strengthens Institutional Ties with National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies on Research and Governance Studies

The management of University of Abuja has paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, Abubakar O. Sulaiman, in a move aimed at deepening institutional collaboration and strengthening existing academic and policy ties.

The management of University of Abuja has paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, Abubakar O. Sulaiman, in a move aimed at deepening institutional collaboration and strengthening existing academic and policy ties.

The visit, which took place yesterday, was led by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, alongside principal officers of the institution, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Rosemary Udeozor; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Muhammad Umaru Ndagi; Acting Registrar, Sambo Mohammed; Bursar, Shiva Rae Kondoun; Director of Procurement, Muhammed Ndace; Director of Physical Planning and Development, Ezekiel Ripiye; and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Mutiulah Olasupo.

During the engagement, both institutions reaffirmed the importance of sustaining and expanding their long-standing partnership, with a shared focus on strengthening research capacity and policy-relevant academic output.

Key areas identified for collaboration include legislative drafting support, legal and governance research, gender studies, and parliamentary engagement initiatives designed to bridge academic knowledge with real-time legislative processes.

The Director-General of National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, Abubakar O. Sulaiman, welcomed the delegation and expressed the Institute’s readiness to deepen cooperation with the university in areas of mutual interest.
