UNICAL Directs Students to Vacate Hostels Ahead of 2024/25 Academic Session
The management of the University of Calabar has issued a directive for all students residing in the university hostels to temporarily vacate their accommodations.
In preparation for the commencement of the 2024/2025 academic session, the management of the University of Calabar has issued a directive for all students residing in the university hostels to temporarily vacate their accommodations.
The evacuation is necessary to allow for a thorough fumigation of all halls of residence. This fumigation exercise is scheduled to begin tomorrow, Wednesday, 9th October, 2024, and continue through Thursday, 10th October, 2024.
The university has emphasized the importance of this exercise, stating that the chemicals to be used for the fumigation are potent and would pose health risks to individuals in the hostels during and immediately after the process. As a result, students are required to vacate the hostels for three days to ensure their safety.
Students are expected to return to their hostels after the fumigation is completed, in readiness for the official resumption of the academic session on Friday, 11th October, 2024.
For further inquiries, students are advised to contact the Student Affairs Division.
