UNICAL to hold Aptitude Test for candidates seeking admission into the university

The University of Calabar is set to hold an aptitude test for candidates seeking admission into the University for the 2023/2024 academic session

An official statement from the Registrar of the University, Mr Gabriel Egbe, which was made available to the Public Relations Unit, indicates that the aptitude test is for all candidates who scored 140 and above in the Joint Admissions & Matriculation Examination and who have chosen the University of Calabar as their First Choice in their application for admission into the University for the 2023/2024 academic session. 

According to the release the First-Choice aptitude test exercise has been scheduled to take place from Monday, August 21st to Saturday, 26th August 2023. 

The statement further reads that applicants who wish to make Payment and Register for the exercise should take advantage of E-transact option which is available in all commercial banks nationwide by paying a token of #2000. 

According to him, at the bank, candidates are required to pay and obtain an E-transact PIN and  with the PIN, log into the portal http://www.myunical.edu.ng with their CONFIRMATION ORDER NUMBER and follow the instructions on the portal after login.

This is even as he said that the other option for candidates is to buy the Post-UTME Pin Online  noting that this option gives access to purchase Post-UTME pin from the portal http://www.myunical.edu.ng

He said candidates are advised to Click Buy Post-UTME Pin Online to purchase the Post-UTME pin online. Log in with the TRANSACTION ID as the PIN into the portal and upon obtaining the printout from the bank or online pin, proceed as follows: 

LOG ON TO: http://www.myunical.edu.ng and click on the UTME link. 

The release also informed that on the home page, candidates are expected to enter their correct JAMB Registration number in the box provided and Enter the confirmation order number or transaction ID in the box provided by Clicking on login and follow the online instructions, confirm entries and click on submit and thereafter Print out the completed form. 

The release also stated that, opening of Portal/Registration will start from Monday, July 10th, 2023, and  that the portal will however be shut down at midnight on Sunday, August 13th, 2023.

The statement also informed  that Candidates are required to come with their original UTME result slips showing the candidate's photograph noting that the Post UTME exercise is a Computer Based Test (CBT) and that Special candidates with any form of disability should please indicate during registration.

The statement which also warned against Impersonation as a serious offence, stated that anyone caught will be handed over to the Law Enforcement Agents and may be liable to up to 5 years imprisonment. 

Even as he said, any candidate who fails to take part in the Post UTME exercise automatically loses his or her chance of being considered for admission stressing that early commencement of registration is advised to avoid congestion in the dying hours. 

The release advised candidates to check the Portal from Wednesday, August 16th, 2023, for their venue and time of the CBT.
