UNILAG and LASU to Co-Host 11th FASU Games, Over 1,500 Athletes Expected

The University of Lagos (UNILAG), in collaboration with Lagos State University (LASU), is set to host the 11th Federation of African University Sports (FASU) Games, a prestigious event that will bring together athletes from across Africa. Scheduled to run from Saturday, September 21, to Sunday, September 29, 2024, the games will feature 17 different sports, including Athletics, Basketball, Football, and Swimming.

Vice Chancellor of UNILAG, Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, OON, FAS, has called on Provosts, Deans, Directors, and all stakeholders within the university community to lend their support to ensure the successful hosting of the event. With over 1,500 athletes from 43 African nations expected to compete, the FASU Games promise to be a major highlight in the African sporting calendar.

Both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies will take place at UNILAG, with all members of the university community invited to attend and cheer on the athletes.
