The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has raised tuition fees for returning undergraduate students, sparking reactions across the campus. The new fee structure sees a 48.9 percent increase for non-science students, who will now pay N120,250, up from the previous N80,750.

Although the university management has yet to make an official announcement, students who attempted to generate payment invoices for the new academic session discovered the significant hike through the school’s portal. The unexpected increase has left many students concerned about their ability to afford the new rates.
