UNILAG notice on claims of registration issues for 2nd semester for 2021/2022 session

The attention of the University Management has been drawn to claims of registration issues by some students of the University, Myschoolnews gathered.

The portal for registration for this semester opened on Friday, December 23, 2022, to be closed on March 5, 2023. However, this was extended and the portal remained open till April 2, 2023. Hence, the registration portal was open for over fourteen (14) weeks.

From Monday, April 3 to Sunday, April 9, 2023, the portal was re-opened for editing of courses (Add and Delete). This was further extended from April 9 to April 12, 2023.

In response to appeals by some students who failed to register and edit their courses at the expiration of the deadline for the second closure of the portal, Management graciously approved the re-opening of the portal for the third time within the semester. Consequently, the portal was re-opened for fresh registration and editing of registered courses with effect from Monday, April 24, 2023 to Friday, April 28, 2023.

Almost immediately after the closure of the portal for the third (3rd) time, Management was inundated by claims of computer/internet glitches, and disappearance of registered courses from the registration forms on some students portals. As a result, the portal was reopened the fourth (4th) time to allow students with such issues to edit their course registration appropriately from 6.00pm, Wednesday, May 31 to 11.59p.m., Thursday, June 1, 2023.

On each occasion of re-opening of the portal, the information was widely disseminated via Information Flash, University website (www.unilag.edu.ng) and social media pages, LAGMobile, WhatsApp, among others.

Available data confirms that Thirty-Three Thousand, Four Hundred and Nineteen (33,419) undergraduates have registered their courses for this semester, and printed their dockets in readiness for examinations.

It is the responsibility of all students to complete course registration within the allotted period on the academic calendar approved by the University Senate. This is crucial for effective planning and management of resources for lectures, continuous assessment and examination for the semester.

Students with further enquiries, are advised to contact the Directorate of Academic Affairs via academicaffairs@unilag.edu.ng.
