UNILAG Restores Internet Connectivity and E-Services After Data Centre Fire

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced the full restoration of internet connectivity and all affected electronic services following the fire incident at the University’s Data Centre on Monday, August 10, 2026.

The University said extensive technical recovery efforts were undertaken to restore the affected infrastructure. The efforts included the restoration and stabilisation of power supply, recovery of bandwidth services, and replacement and reconfiguration of core network devices affected by the fire.

UNILAG confirmed that normal access to its digital services has now been fully restored.

The University appreciated the technical teams and personnel who worked to recover and restore the affected infrastructure.

It also apologised to students, staff and other members of the University community for the inconvenience experienced during the period of disruption.
