The University of Lagos is set to host the fourth (4th) African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) Biennial International Conference between Wednesday, November 15 and Friday, November 17, 2023
The 3-day Conference will feature an opening ceremony on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the Tayo Aderinokun Hall, UNILAG, plenary sessions and workshops addressing the broad theme of ‘Reimagining the Future of Higher Education in Africa’.
The African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA), inaugurated in Dakar in March 2015, is a network of sixteen (16) universities from different countries and different historical backgrounds, with a common vision. ARUA aims to enhance research and graduate training in member universities through a number of channels, including the setting up of Centres of Excellence (CoEs) hosted by member universities.
Member universities include: University of Lagos, University of Ibadan, Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia; University of Ghana; University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; University of Nairobi, Kenya; Université Cheikh Anta Diop, Senegal; Makerere University, Uganda; University of Rwanda; University of Witwatersrand, South Africa; University of Pretoria, South Africa; Stellenbosch University, South Africa; Rhodes University, South Africa; University of Cape Town, South Africa; University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and University of Mauritius (Associate Member).
