MAXEETON Technology, a leading software company, has expressed interest in partnering with Borno State University (BOSU) to integrate advanced software solutions into the university's educational framework. This collaboration aims to enhance students' learning experiences and improve institutional efficiency.
The company's Managing Director and CEO, Abdullahi Usman Abbati, led a team to visit BOSU’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Babagana Gutti, to congratulate him on his recent appointment and present the partnership proposal. Abbati commended the VC for his distinguished career in advancing higher education and expressed confidence in his leadership for the success of the institution.
Abbati emphasized that MAXEETON Technology is committed to fostering innovation and collaboration between the technology sector and academic institutions. He highlighted the importance of universities in driving research, shaping future leaders, and contributing to societal progress.
He also praised the technological infrastructure at BOSU and proposed developing a centralized software platform to facilitate seamless communication and information sharing within the university. According to Abbati, such a platform would not only streamline communication but also foster collaboration, reduce delays, minimize costs, and boost overall efficiency.
"We are excited about the opportunity to collaborate on initiatives that align with BOSU’s strategic goals," said Abbati. He further proposed the possibility of joint research projects, the development of cutting-edge educational technology, and industry insights for curriculum development.
In response, Prof. Babagana Gutti expressed his gratitude to the MAXEETON team for their visit and their initiative, noting that it would significantly contribute to the seamless administration of the university. The VC also emphasized that digitization of BOSU is a central part of his five-year development plan, and he welcomed the proposed partnership as a step toward achieving this goal. He directed that discussions should begin with the university’s ICT coordinator to explore the key concepts for collaboration.
In a related visit, the Nigerian Association of Computing Students (NACOS), Borno State Chapter, also paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor. The President of the chapter, Ibrahim Abubakar, congratulated Prof. Gutti and sought his support in expanding the association by opening more chapters in state institutions. Abubakar requested the VC’s support in providing an office at BOSU to serve as the first headquarters of the association.
Prof. Gutti expressed his support for the initiative and shared his vision for the university’s future. He outlined plans to establish a Faculty of Computing with seven departments and transform BOSU into a digital university. The VC also encouraged the students to make the most of their time at university, be exemplary ambassadors, avoid exam malpractice, and manage their screen time wisely.
Additionally, he urged the students to apply for the Nelfund Loan, a government initiative that offers interest-free loans to help students pay their school fees.
This potential collaboration between MAXEETON Technology and Borno State University marks an important step in the university's journey toward digital transformation and enhancing the educational experience for students and staff alike.
