UNILORIN Celebrates Prof. Kolade Ayorinde's 37-Year Academic Legacy

The University of Ilorin led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, honoured Prof. Kolade Luke Ayorinde on September 19, 2024, after his valedictory lecture, marking the end of his 37-year career in animal breeding and genetics.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, led a delegation to honour Prof. Kolade Luke Ayorinde at his residence. This visit followed his valedictory lecture, delivered on September 17, 2024, at the university auditorium, marking the end of his remarkable 37-year career.

Prof. Ayorinde, a pioneer in animal breeding and a renowned guinea fowl breeder, rose through the ranks at the University of Ilorin, becoming a full professor at just 41. His illustrious career includes leadership roles such as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) at UNILORIN, Vice Chancellor at KolaDaisi University, and pioneer Vice Chancellor of Thomas Adewumi University, Kwara State. Throughout his career, he supervised numerous postgraduate students, with 12 of his protégés now holding professorial positions.

Prof. Ayorinde is a Fellow of both the Nigerian Society of Animal Production (FNSAP) and the Corporate Administration Institute of Nigeria (FCAIN), a testament to his academic excellence and leadership in the field of animal science.
