The University of Ilorin will resume for the 2024/2025 academic session in October, merging two sets of students due to previous disruptions.

UNILORIN to Welcome 2024/2025 Students in October

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) is set to welcome new students for the 2024/2025 academic session in October, according to Prof. Olubunmi Abayomi Omotesho, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic). This resumption will include students from both the 2023/2024 intake and those who recently completed the 2024/2025 Post-UTME.

Prof. Omotesho shared this update in an interview with UNILORIN Bulletin on August 29, 2024. He explained that the proposed date will be reviewed by the Committee of Provosts and Deans before seeking Senate approval. The official resumption date will be confirmed following Senate approval.

The decision to merge admissions from two sessions is part of the University’s efforts to address scheduling disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the ASUU strike, which resulted in a delay of nearly a year.
