UNILORIN VC Prof. Egbewole Mourns Founder of Ahman Pategi University

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has expressed heartfelt condolences to the community of Ahman Pategi University, Patigi, following the death of its founder and Pro-Chancellor, Hon. Aliyu Bahago Ahman Pategi. The former lawmaker passed away on Thursday at 59 years of age.

In a statement issued on Friday, October 25, 2024, by the Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, Prof. Egbewole, who also serves as the Chairman of the Consortium of Kwara Universities (KU8+), described Hon. Pategi's passing as a significant loss to the university community, Kwara State, and particularly to the consortium of Kwara universities. Hon. Pategi was celebrated not only as a leader but also as a philanthropist deeply committed to advancing education and social development within his community.

Prof. Egbewole extended his sympathy to the Etsu Pategi, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi, and the Patigi Emirate, recognizing the late Hon. Pategi as a respected figure and valued contributor to the emirate's educational and community growth. His legacy, the Vice Chancellor noted, will be cherished and remembered for years to come.

He further prayed for Allah's mercy upon the late politician and comfort for his family, colleagues, and community members mourning.
