UNILORIN VC Prof. Wahab Egbewole Praises UNILORIN FM Manager for Winning Two Global Awards
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, praised Mr. Idris Akintola Ibrahim (Alooma), Station Manager of UNILORIN 89.3 FM, for winning two global awards, recognizing his contributions to the university's prestige.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has commended the Station Manager of UNILORIN 89.3 FM, Mr. Idris Akintola Ibrahim (Alooma), for consistently bringing honor and recognition to the university through his professional achievements.
Prof. Egbewole expressed his appreciation last Monday (October 7, 2024), while receiving Mr. Ibrahim, who had recently won two prestigious global awards. He congratulated the seasoned broadcaster, noting that the awards were well deserved and a testament to his expertise and dedication.
Describing Mr. Ibrahim as an exceptional media professional, Prof. Egbewole lauded his years of outstanding service, which have made him a valuable asset to the University of Ilorin.
Earlier, the Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, who led the awardee to the Vice Chancellor's office, acknowledged the consistent support of Prof. Egbewole to UNILORIN FM and the Directorate of Corporate Affairs.
Mr. Akogun added that this support has been instrumental in motivating the staff to consistently strive for excellence in their roles.
The Director emphasized the importance of presenting the awards to the Vice Chancellor as a mark of gratitude for his unwavering encouragement.
Also present at the award presentation were Mr. George Adebisi Adenle, Head of the Yoruba Unit at UNILORIN FM; Mr. Abubakar Imam, Deputy Editor of the UNILORIN Bulletin; and Mr. Bashir Dawodu, an Information Officer at the Directorate.
In a related development, the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) extended its congratulations to Mr. Ibrahim for the accolades.
The National President of IEDPU, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, in a statement by the Union’s spokesman, commended Mr. Ibrahim for his outstanding achievements and wished him a more successful career ahead.
Similarly, the Federated Ife Descendants Union (FIDU), Ilorin Branch, hailed Mr. Ibrahim’s accomplishments.
Pa Gabriel Akintilo, President of FIDU, expressed pride in Mr. Ibrahim's profound knowledge and professionalism, describing him as an excellent ambassador of the Ife Kingdom.
The FIDU President, on behalf of the people of Ife Kingdom, congratulated Mr. Ibrahim on his prestigious awards and wished him continued success in his broadcasting career.
