UNIMAID Launches Free Campus Shuttle Service
The University of Maiduguri has officially introduced a free campus shuttle bus service for the 2025/2026 academic session, aimed at easing student commuting between the University Park and the Academic Complex.
The University of Maiduguri has officially introduced a free campus shuttle bus service for the 2025/2026 academic session, aimed at easing student commuting between the University Park and the Academic Complex.
This initiative, provided by Professor Adamu Umaru Dzivama, General Manager of University of Maiduguri Consultancy Services Limited, is designed to address peak-hour traffic challenges and enhance accessibility across campus.
The shuttle will operate daily during rush hours: 6:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. The official flag-off ceremony was held at the University Park on Monday, 16 February 2026.
Dignitaries in attendance included Dr. Ahmed Jime, Acting Director of Facility Management at UNIMAID Consults; Mr. Daggash Mustapha Haruna, Students Relations Officer (SRO); and leaders of the Students’ Union Government (SUG).

Speaking at the event, Dr. Jime urged students to use the service responsibly and to prioritize safety and security when boarding and alighting from the buses.
