UNIMAID Primary School Honours Outstanding Pupils at Colourful Speech and Prize-Giving Day
The University of Maiduguri, UNIMAID, Primary School on Friday, 24 July 2026, held its annual Speech and Prize-Giving Day at the school premises, celebrating the academic achievements of its pupils while recognizing the dedication of teachers and staff in promoting quality education.
The colourful event brought together members of the University community, parents, teachers, pupils, and invited guests to celebrate academic excellence and encourage young learners to strive for even greater success.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Central Administration, Professor Babagana Bako, commended the teachers and staff of the school for their unwavering commitment and immense contributions to advancing foundational education in Nigeria.
Professor Bako praised the school's consistent efforts in nurturing future leaders through quality teaching, discipline, and moral guidance. He reaffirmed the commitment of the University Management to supporting the continuous growth and development of the school, noting that the institution would never relent in its mandate to improve educational standards and provide a highly conducive learning environment.
Congratulating the graduating pupils on the successful completion of their primary education, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor encouraged them to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to excellence as they transition to the next stage of their academic journey, wishing them outstanding success in their future endeavours.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Headmaster of the UNIMAID Primary School, Alhaji Saleh Ebet Ahmed, expressed profound appreciation to the University Management for its steadfast support. He noted that the backing received from the University has significantly enhanced teaching and learning, creating an enabling environment for the pupils to excel both academically and morally.
The Headmaster congratulated the graduating set on their milestones and urged them to uphold the core values of discipline, integrity, and hard work, reminding them to always serve as worthy ambassadors of the school wherever they find themselves.
The high point of the event was the presentation of prizes and awards to the best graduating pupils and other outstanding students who distinguished themselves in academics, discipline, and extracurricular activities, amid resounding applause from proud parents, teachers, and well-wishers.
