UNIPORT Dean addresses SUG President resignation, says nobody impeached him

The Dean of Student Affairs of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Prof. Chima Wokocha, has disclosed the reason behind the resignation of the former UNIPORT Student Union President, Comr. Dickson Senibo, Myschoolnews gathered.

The Dean who made this known barely one week after the resignation, told our correspondent that the former President was not cajoled to resign.

When asked if the former President was convicted of a crime to cover up as an excuse to leave office, he admitted that he was not convicted.

“For the records, the SUG President was never suspended, impeached, convicted or accused, he willingly submitted his resignation to contest for higher office.”

According to the Dean, the resignation came to him as a shock. It was also in line with the Union Constitution which requires that the former President must resign before contesting for any other office.

“The requirement to be able to contest for that office is for you to resign within a stipulated period and it happened so easily and we have a substantive SUG President in the name of Faith,” he added.
