In a ceremonial gathering, the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) inaugurated its newly elected faculty presidents and executive councils for the various faculties.

Held at the university’s main auditorium, the event welcomed students, faculty, and administration as these student leaders formally stepped into their new roles.

During his keynote address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Abraham Owunari urged the new executives to view their positions as a "call to service," reminding them of the importance of their roles in fostering a positive environment for students.

His statement emphasized the weight of their responsibilities, underscoring that they are in a unique position to impact both academic and social experiences within their faculties.

“We inaugurated the newly elected faculty presidents and their excos for the various faculties of the University. We charged them to see their elections at the various faculties as a call to service.

As the closest form of leadership to the students at the level of the faculties, it is incumbent on them to ensure service delivery in terms of the academic and social activities of the students of their respective faculties. Best wishes to them all as they serve,” said Prof. Owunari.
