A total of 495 students were formally matriculated for the 2023/2024 session of the University of Lagos Sandwich Programme on Friday, September 13, 2024. The ceremony, held at the Faculty of Education Auditorium, featured the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, who commended the students for their dedication to education despite economic challenges.

Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics and Research), Professor Bola Oboh, the Vice-Chancellor praised the students for their commitment to acquiring knowledge. She encouraged them to be role models and inspire younger students to pursue education regardless of circumstances.

In their remarks, Professor Abigael Ogwezzy, Director of the Institute of Continuing Education, and Professor Simeon Oladipo, Dean of the Faculty of Education, congratulated the new students and urged them to engage rigorously in their studies. They emphasized the importance of participating in the university’s various programmes and initiatives to become well-rounded graduates.

The highlight of the ceremony was the administration of the matriculation oath by the acting Registrar, Mrs. Olakunle Makinde. The 495 matriculants were admitted into various departments, including Adult Education, Arts Education, Educational Foundations, Educational Management, Human Kinetics and Health Education, Science Education, Social Sciences Education, and Technology & Vocational Education.
