University of Lagos to Host 2024 International Week Focused on "Inclusive Digital Transformation"

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) is gearing up to host its highly anticipated 2024 International Week, scheduled to take place from Tuesday, October 22nd to Friday, October 25th. Organized by the Office of International Relations, Partnerships, and Prospects, this year’s event will explore the theme: “Inclusive Digital Transformation and the University Promise.”

The week-long programme aims to foster international collaboration while addressing the role of digital transformation in reshaping higher education and society. It promises an exciting blend of academic discussions, cultural events, and networking opportunities.

Day One will begin with a formal opening ceremony, including a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, welcoming addresses, and goodwill messages from prominent organizations such as the National Universities Commission (NUC), Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), the European Union (EU), and the MasterCard Foundation. The highlight of the day will be a keynote speech and interactions with the diplomatic corps and invited universities. The day will conclude with a university tour and innovation challenge awards, celebrating student and faculty achievements in digital transformation.

Day Two will tackle global issues, with plenary sessions on “Digital Transformation and Global Health Equity” and “Smart Cities – How can we use Tech to build a City for Us.” These sessions aim to provide thought-provoking insights into how technology can create more inclusive societies and advance health equity worldwide.
