University of Maiduguri Releases Important Update on School Fees Refund and NELFUND Reapplication

The Bursary Department of the University of Maiduguri (Unimaid) has released an official update on the status of school fees refunds and NELFUND reapplication for students.

According to the update, the verification process for 90% of students who experienced delayed refunds has been completed, with the remaining 10% expected to be finalized by the end of March 2025.

Regarding NELFUND reapplication, the Bursary Department is working on the process, which will affect both beneficiaries and new intakes. The process is expected to commence mid-next month, with an official circular to be released by the Bursary Department.

Additionally, the Bursary Department has received the confirmed list of third batch beneficiaries and will commence school fees distribution in March 2025. This will cover last session school fees, and refunds will be processed promptly for those who have already paid.

The update also clarified that upkeep payments are managed by the NELFUND Secretariat and not the Bursary Department.
