University of Maiduguri Vice-Chancellor Inspects New VTH Equipment and Engineering Facilities

The Vice Chancellor University of Maiduguri Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, alongside some of the university's principal officers, conducted an inspection of the Vetinery Teaching Hospital and the Engineering Mechanical Workshop on Wednesday the 3rd December, 2025.

During the visit, Professor Mele inspected the newly installed machineries at surgery theatre of the University of Maiduguri Vetinery Teaching Hospital, the equipments includes the thermal surgical table, Digital weighing scale for both small and large animal unit, x-ray Digital Machine and a Dart Gun, worth millions of naira.

Professor Mele, during the visit, commended the management and staff of VTH for their dedication, stating that the acquisition of this equipment will enhance research, clinical service, and teaching. He encouraged them to maintain the facilities.

In a related development, Professor Mele also visited the Faculty of Engineering Teaching Workshop and inspected the repaired and some newly constructed office and classroom furniture produced by the staff and students of the faculty.

He then commended the staff, encouraged them to do more, and assured them of the University’s management maximum support to do more.
