The Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Prof Charles Esimone, refutes allegations of plans to impose the next acting Vice Chancellor, clarifying that the Federal Ministry of Education will oversee the appointment in accordance with university laws.

Dr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, the Special Adviser on Public Relations and Special Duties to the Vice Chancellor, rebutted recent media reports alleging plans for an imposition in early June, labeling them as baseless. Ojukwu emphasized that the outgoing VC lacks the authority to unilaterally install an acting Vice Chancellor, asserting that the decision lies with the Federal Ministry of Education, pending the reconstitution of the Governing Council.
