Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka is mourning the loss of Professor Arinze-Ubaabunike Agbanusi, Head of the Department of Philosophy in the Faculty of Arts. Professor Agbanusi passed away on Monday morning after a battle with illness. 

Despite the best efforts to manage his health challenges, Professor Agbanusi's condition could not be stabilized. His death is a profound loss to the university community and the broader academic world.

Okeke Mayor says "Chaiii... I saw him last the day Senator Victor Umeh handed over the church he singlehandedly built at Buberndoff Memorial Grammar School, Adazi Nnukwu to Awka diocese. He gave me his number but we had spoken only once since then. Rest in peace, Prof Arinze Agbanusi."

"Freddy Maduekwe wrote: "May God rest his kind soul. Prof Arinze Agbanusi lectured me during the days of GSS in Unizik. I came across him one time in Unizik after I had finished school and gave him a lift and told him a story of how good he is. My condolences to his family."
