Usman Danfodiyo University Sokoto Announces Promotions of Academic Staff

The Management of Usman Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) has approved the promotion of nine academic staff members to the rank of Professor, including Dr. Oyeniyi Yinka James, Staff Adviser of the News Digest Press.

Dr. Oyeniyi, now a Professor of Pharmaceutics in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, was among those promoted, as announced in a statement released on March 14, 2025.

Additionally, 10 staff members were elevated to the rank of Reader. The promotions were approved during the University Governing Council's 171st meeting on March 12, 2025.

The university council urged the promoted individuals to intensify their efforts in impactful research and to mentor younger academics, further solidifying UDUS's commitment to academic excellence and professional development.
