Usman Danfodiyo University Sokoto to Host 50th Inaugural Lecture
Usman Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) is pleased to announce its 50th Inaugural Lecture, scheduled for September 5, 2024, at 4:30 PM.
The lecture, titled "The Igbo Factor in the History of Intergroup Relations and Commerce in Kano: Opportunities and Challenges Revisited," will be delivered by renowned Professor Ahmed Bako at the UDUS main campus Auditorium.
Professor Ahmed Bako, a distinguished scholar in African and Nigerian History, holds a B.A. from Bayero University Kano (BUK), an M.A. from the University of California (1984), and a Ph.D. from BUK (1989). His expertise and research focus on the intricate dynamics of intergroup relations and commerce in Nigeria.
The 50th Inaugural Lecture promises to be a thought-provoking event, exploring the complex historical relationships between ethnic groups in Nigeria and their impact on commerce. The university community, academics, and the general public are invited to attend.
