Veterinary Council of Nigeria Inaugurates New Executive Members

The Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN) has inaugurated its newly elected executive members, led by President Prof. Mathew Adamu and Vice President Halima Idrisa Gambo PhD.

The inauguration ceremony took place on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in Abuja, and was officiated by the Honorable Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha.

Dr. Gambo, a renowned veterinary expert, has achieved a significant milestone in her professional career. In addition to her role as Vice President of the VCN, she serves as the Chairperson of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), Borno State Chapter, and Deputy Director of the University of Maiduguri Business School (UMBS).

The VCN plays a crucial role in regulating the veterinary profession in Nigeria, ensuring that animal health services meet the highest standards ¹. As a key player in the VCN, Dr. Gambo will contribute to setting standards for veterinary practice in Nigeria, promoting excellence in animal health care .
