103 Veterinary Doctors Inducted at Ahmadu Bello University
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, inducted 103 newly qualified veterinary doctors in a historic oath-taking ceremony on February 15, 2025, at the Abdullahi Mahadi Conference Centre. The Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Junaidu Kabir, highlighted the significance of the event and acknowledged the support of the Vice-Chancellor and the University Senate.
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, on Saturday, February 15, 2025, inducted 103 newly qualified veterinary doctors in a historic oath-taking ceremony held at the Abdullahi Mahadi Conference Centre, Samaru Main Campus.
The Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Junaidu Kabir, described the event as a significant milestone, marking the official entry of the graduates into the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Council as registered practitioners. He acknowledged the unwavering support of the Vice-Chancellor and the University Senate in ensuring the successful completion of their academic journey.
Prof. Junaidu also reminded the inductees of the sacrifices made by their parents and faculty members in shaping their careers. He urged them to uphold professionalism and dedication in their new roles.
In his address, the Vice-Chancellor of ABU, Prof. Kabiru Bala, congratulated the new veterinary doctors and encouraged them to demonstrate resilience and humility in serving humanity, emphasizing the impact of their training on public health and animal welfare.
The oath was administered by the Registrar of the Veterinary Medical Council, Dr. Oladotun E. Fadipe.
During the ceremony, outstanding graduates were recognized for their academic excellence. Dr. Onyealilam Priscilla Chiamaka received the award for the Best Graduating Female Student, while Dr. Abubakar Hassan was named the Best Overall Graduating Student. Additionally, Dr. Samson Sunday was acknowledged as the overstayed student.
