Gabriel Carothers, a 17-year-old student from Albuquerque, New Mexico, has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the youngest black pilot in the United States. Gabriel recently completed his private pilot check ride, marking a significant accomplishment in his aviation journey.

Gabriel's journey involved years of training, ground school, and a deep commitment to his dream. At the age of 14, he conducted independent research, delving into designing and programming, which led to the creation of his flight simulator. His father, Alex Carothers, a retired United States Air Force pilot, played a pivotal role in inspiring Gabriel's love for aviation.

Carothers is not only passionate about flying but is also actively involved in teaching others. He is a member of the General Lloyd “Fig” Newton local chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, where he imparts knowledge about flight basics at STEM events.
