23 Usmanu Danfodio University Students Honored as Millennium Campus Network Fellows
Each fellow will work on specific projects aimed at educating the public on issues like consanguineous marriage and its health implications.
Twenty-three medical students from Usmanu Danfodio University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH) have been recognized as Millennium Campus Network Fellows. The prestigious program, established in 2013, empowers students to lead community development initiatives.
Led by Hamza Ismail Tajudeen (MBBS) and Bello Sherif-Deen (BMLS), the team met with the Provost, Prof. Sule Ahmad Saidu, to discuss their upcoming projects, which focus on health awareness and disease prevention in local schools. Each fellow will work on specific projects aimed at educating the public on issues like consanguineous marriage and its health implications.
Prof. Saidu commended the students for their dedication to community service, encouraging them to uphold the university's values.
Dr. Sidi, Head of the Radiography Department, also attended the meeting.
The recognition highlights Usmanu Danfodio University's commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, with its students joining a global network of over 4,000 Millennium Fellows across 48 countries.
