ABU Appoints Professor Aliyu Rafindadi Sanusi As Deputy Vice-Chancellor

The Council of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has approved the appointment of Professor Aliyu Rafindadi Sanusi as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Advancement, Research, and Innovation. The appointment, which took effect on December 16, 2024, was made at the 206th Emergency Meeting of the Council.

 

Professor Sanusi, a renowned economist and former Dean of ABU Business School, will serve a two-year term in the first instance. His appointment follows the creation of the office of the third Deputy Vice-Chancellor, which aims to enhance research activities at the university.

With a distinguished academic career spanning over two decades, Professor Sanusi has published 85 peer-reviewed articles, supervised 53 MSc theses, and 16 PhD dissertations. He has also attended several local and international conferences and workshops, showcasing his expertise in monetary economics.
