ABU Awards Scholarships to 107 Students with Special Needs and Foreign Students

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has awarded scholarships to a total of 107 students, including 49 postgraduate foreign students, 42 undergraduate foreign students, 10 Nigerian students, and six indigent undergraduate students.
During the presentation of the award letters at the Senate Chambers, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kabiru Bala, represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Raymond Bako, emphasized the university's commitment to inclusivity, stating that it aims to support vulnerable students.

Dr. Sa'adatu Muhammad Makarfi, Director of the Counseling and Human Development Center, noted that foreign students, both undergraduate and postgraduate, will pay the same fees as indigenous students due to the country's economic conditions. She also mentioned that the university has fully covered tuition and accommodation fees for some students with special needs.
Mustapha Sufyan Yahaya, President of Students with Special Needs, expressed gratitude for the support and requested that the scholarship be extended to more students. Abdul Ilyasu Sani, representing foreign students, also thanked the university management and prayed for its continued success.
The event included the presentation of scholarship award letters to beneficiaries and a group photograph, attended by key university officials.
