ABU Partners with SINOMA Nigeria to Establish Low-Carbon Laboratory

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SINOMA Nigeria Company Limited, a subsidiary of China National Building Materials Group (CNBM), to establish the ABU China-Nigeria Low-Carbon New Materials Joint Laboratory.

CNBM, a Fortune Global 500 company for 14 consecutive years, is a leading comprehensive building materials industry group, new materials developer, and integrated service provider ¹. The company boasts 30,000 overseas employees, 196 institutions in 76 countries, and investments in the United States, Germany, Mongolia, and Africa.

The MoU signing ceremony featured representatives from China Building Materials Academy (CBMA) Company Limited, CBMI Construction Company Limited, and ABU. Mr. Zhou Yuxian signed on behalf of SINOMA, while Prof. Sani Abba Aliyu, Director of Advancement and International Education, represented ABU's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala.

The joint laboratory will be the first tangible project among 30 planned collaborations, marking a significant milestone in ABU's research and development endeavors.
