University of Maiduguri Staff Urged to Take Responsibility for Energy Conservation

The University of Maiduguri has reminded its staff members of the importance of switching off all electrical points and appliances in their offices after working hours.

 

The reminder was issued by the Office of the Registrar, Ahmad A. Lawan, following a report from the Task Force on Electricity Supply on Campus. The report was considered by the Top Management Committee (TMC) at its 131st meeting held on October 29, 2024.

The university management emphasized the need to reduce unnecessary energy consumption and prevent fire incidents. Staff members are urged to ensure compliance with this directive, and the Chief Security Officer has been tasked with monitoring compliance.

 

Defaulters will be dealt with in accordance with existing regulations. The university management appealed to all staff members to cooperate in keeping university property safe and secure.
