ABU Vice-Chancellor Urges Law Students to Embrace Reading and Research

The Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Professor Kabiru Bala, has called on students of the Faculty of Law to cultivate a strong habit of reading and research to enhance their professional skills. Professor Bala made this appeal during a visit by the ABU Law Clinic team to his office.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor encouraged the students to expand their knowledge by studying selected courses such as mathematics, history, philosophy, and Shakespeare's works. He emphasized that these areas of study would further develop their analytical and critical thinking abilities, which are crucial for legal practice.

Dr. Hassan Bala, the Coordinator of the ABU Law Clinic, highlighted that the purpose of their visit was to promote public awareness about the clinic. He noted that the clinic provides free legal services and involves students in handling succession and land matters. Additionally, he mentioned that the ABU Law Clinic collaborates with the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Legal Aid Council, and other legal bodies to fulfill its mission.
