ACU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Oduwole Sympathizes with FCE (Special) Oyo Following Staff Loss and Storm Damage
The Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, has extended her heartfelt condolences to the management of the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo (SPED), following a period of institutional bereavement and natural disaster.
During a courtesy visit to the Provost, Dr. Rauf Salami, Prof. Oduwole expressed deep sympathy over the passing of Mr. Moses Onilude, an Assistant Deputy Registrar at the college. She further commiserated with the institution over the significant "havoc" caused by a severe storm that struck the campus during the rainfall on Friday, March 27, 2026.
The visit coincided with Prof. Oduwole’s engagement as the guest speaker for the Senior Staff Union in Colleges of Education, Nigeria (SSUCOEN). Accompanied by a high-ranking delegation—including Deputy Vice-Chancellors Prof. Afolake Olanbiwonninu and Prof. Olukayode Binuyo—the Vice-Chancellor emphasized ACU’s commitment to "viable collaborations and partnerships" within the Oyo academic community.
In his reception of the ACU team, Dr. Rauf Salami highlighted SPED's unique status as a premier center for training specialist teachers for students with special needs. He noted:
Academic Leadership: SPED has been adjudged the best in its field for its specialized tactics and delivery.
Educational Partnership: Dr. Salami thanked ACU for its continuous support of SPED staff currently pursuing Postgraduate programmes at Ajayi Crowther University.
Following the meeting, Prof. Oduwole transitioned to the 2026 International Women's Day lecture, where she presented a paper titled "Rights, Justice and Actions for Women's Safety at the Workplace." The session reinforced the shared values of both institutions regarding gender equality and institutional integrity.
