At the 11th International Conference of the Textile Researchers Association of Nigeria (TRAN) held at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), former RMRDC Director-General Prof. Hussaini Doko Ibrahim called for the swift establishment of a cotton, textile, and garment development council.

Represented by Prof. A. Giwa, Ibrahim highlighted that a bill for the council is in progress in the National Assembly. The four-day conference, focused on revitalizing Nigeria’s textile industry, was attended by industry experts and researchers, including ABU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kabiru Bala.
