Ahmadu Bello University Senate Approves Higher Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas for 277 Candidates

The Senate of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has approved the award of higher degrees and postgraduate diplomas to 277 candidates from 14 faculties, following the recommendations of the School of Postgraduate Studies Board.

The approved candidates hail from the faculties of Administration, Agriculture, Arts, Business School, Clinical Sciences, Education, Engineering, Environmental Design, Law, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine.

Additionally, the Senate approved the notification of thesis/dissertation titles and appointment of examiners for 120 candidates from 13 faculties.

The Senate commended the members of the School of Postgraduate Studies Board and the Senate Standing Committee for their dedication and diligence in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the board.

The Resolutions of the 539th (Regular) Meeting of the Senate, held on August 29, 2024, also ratified the list of graduating students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and approved the lists of graduating students from the Faculties of Education, Engineering, Environmental Design, and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The Senate expressed concern over the increasing rate of examinations misconduct cases and emphasized the need for preventive measures to minimize such incidents. It urged for additional publicity on the provisions of the University Examinations Management/Examinations Regulations for both staff and students.
