Akcils Urges Staff To Uphold Professionalism, Ethics, Quality Service Delivery

The Acting Provost of Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies, AKCILS, Kano, Dr. Ali Tamasi Mu'az, has called on members of staff to uphold professionalism, observe the College's rules and regulations, and remain committed to quality service delivery.

The Acting Provost, represented by the Deputy Provost, Administration, Barr. Dija Isa Hashim, made the call at the opening of a sensitisation workshop organised by the Quality Assurance Directorate to mark the commencement of the 2026/2027 academic session.

Barr. Hashim described the workshop as timely and beneficial, and commended the Directorate for promoting quality assurance across the College. She urged participants to apply the knowledge gained in their daily responsibilities and reminded academic staff that their role extends beyond teaching to instilling sound moral values in students.

Earlier, the Director of Quality Assurance, Dr. Lami Muhammad Shattima, said the workshop was aimed at strengthening quality standards in teaching, administration, examinations and service delivery. She stressed that maintaining quality is a collective responsibility and encouraged staff to implement the lessons learnt.

The workshop featured presentations on examination ethics, teaching professionalism and workplace morality. Malam Aminu Ado Ahmad emphasised strict compliance with NCCE examination standards and warned against examination malpractice. Muktar Tafida highlighted professionalism, academic integrity and ethical conduct as essential for effective teaching and learning, while Dr. Mujtaba Adam Saleh urged staff to view public service as a trust that requires honesty, accountability and dedication.

The workshop forms part of the College's efforts to strengthen professionalism and improve institutional performance ahead of the 2026/2027 academic session.
