AKSU Directs Students to Pay Fees into State Government Account, Issues Updated Guidelines

Students of Akwa Ibom State University have been advised that the process for payment of school fees remains largely unchanged, with the exception of a new directive requiring all payments to be made directly into the State Government’s designated account.

The update, issued by the Students’ Union Government (SUG), outlines a revised payment framework aimed at improving accountability and reducing transaction-related issues.

Under the updated procedure, students are to continue generating their payment invoices through the usual channels, either by visiting the university’s ICT Centre or seeking assistance from qualified personnel. Once the invoice is generated, students are expected to proceed immediately to the bank to complete the payment.

The university management has also issued a strong warning regarding the security of transactions, cautioning students against using cyber cafés or engaging unauthorized individuals for fee payments. Authorities stressed that the State Government will not be held responsible for any financial losses, errors, or misdirected payments resulting from third-party involvement.

Students have further been advised to adhere strictly to key guidelines, including ensuring that invoices are generated only when funds are readily available, as account details provided are time-sensitive and may expire within a short period. They are also urged to verify all personal and payment information before completing transactions at the bank.

The directive forms part of broader efforts to streamline the payment process and safeguard students against avoidable financial complications during registration.
