Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education has officially attained autonomy and is now recognized as Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri. This achievement has elevated the institution to a fully autonomous federal university, independent of its previous affiliation with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).
