Favour informed the department of her award via calls and WhatsApp messages.
She followed this up with a Facebook post where she stated that: "I am delighted to be awarded a scholarship to study Master degree in Forensic Science & Crime Scene Investigation at the University of Central Lancashire, a top ranking school for forensic science. More thrilling is being awarded on my first attempt as one of the 44 Nigerian Scholars of the 2023/2024 cohort of the highly prestigious and competitive fully funded Chevening Scholarship (Chevening Awards UK in Nigeria), out of 70,930 applications globally and 14,700 applications in Nigeria. This is my dream course at my dream school with my dream scholarship."
She added in her post that: "My love for forensics began in my 300 level at UNICROSS when I offered a course titled: Introduction to Forensic Science. Since then, I desired opportunities that would equip me with the right blend of academic and technical expertise in forensic science to tackle sexual and gender-based violence. In tackling this major violent crime against women and girls, we cannot miss out on the role education plays in achieving gender equality and directly impacting women, peace and security. The lack of menstrual hygiene products exposes girls to sexual abuse and increases the risk of sexual and gender-based crimes".
Favour gave credit to her Lecturers in the department of Anatomy and Forensic Anthropology of UNICROSS, and particularly to God for her academic achievements and admitted that this feat is attained because of the solid foundation laid in UNICROSS.
A big congratulations to her for this laudable milestone achieved.
