In a heartfelt tribute to the late Prof. Isaac Olaolu Akinyele, a visionary who rose from humble beginnings to become a beacon of knowledge and philanthropy, the “Years Me Memorial Scholarship Awards” have been instituted. 

Applicants wishing to apply for the IOA Memorial Scholarship must meet the following requirements:

• Citizenship: Must be a Nigerian citizen.
• Field of Study: Enrolled in either Nutrition or Agriculture programs.
• Academic Level: Must be in their second or third year of full-time undergraduate study.
• Academic Excellence: A minimum CGPA of 3.5 in a 5-grade system is required to qualify.

Scholarship Benefits

The IOA Memorial Scholarship is designed to offer financial assistance to ten deserving scholars, providing them with N150,000 each. This support is intended to alleviate the financial burdens associated with tertiary education, enabling students to focus on their academic and professional development.

This scholarship is exclusively available to students studying Nutrition or Agriculture, reflecting Prof. Akinyele’s vision for a sustainable future through improved food systems and nutritional practices.

Application Requirements

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must submit:

• A personal statement explaining their qualification for the scholarship (max 300 words).
• A summary of learnings from the specified online course on leadership in nutrition, ethical leadership practices in Nigeria, and an action plan.
• A vision for transforming food systems pathways over the next ten years, including the role of Generative AI (max 250 words).
