Army Arrests  Suspects For Kidnapping UNIJOS Students, Armed Robbery

Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN  while conducting Operation HAKORIN DAMISA IV arrested  criminal suspects in connection with the kidnapping of University of Jos UNIJOS students, armed robbery, drug peddling, village attack, farm destruction, and cattle rustling amongst others.

This was disclosed in a statement posted on the official X handle of the Nigerian Army on Thursday.

According to the statement, one Bashiru Musa and one Idris Abdulrahman, have been on the wanted list of OPSH and were arrested in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

 The statement reads, "The suspects during interrogation narrated that they were involved in the kidnapping of 7 students of the University of Jos in July 2023. Items recovered from the suspects include one AK 47 rifle loaded with 12 rounds of 7.62mm special."

In a similar vein, the troops arrested one Goma Abubakar and Jibril Abass in connection to the attack on Takania village in Zango Kataf LGA of Kaduna State where six persons were murdered in cold blood.

The troops also arrested two notorious armed robbers, Nasiru Ahmed and Isah Mamuda; two notorious robbery syndicates, Manu Sale and Amir Shaba; two suspected kidnappers, Abdullahi Abubakar and Musa Yakubu, two suspected cattle rustlers, Abdullahi Ibrahim and Muhammadu Ori; and an armed robbery gang leader, Shaibu Abubakar, in different local governments in the state.

 Items recovered from the suspects include one cutlass, knife, two mobile phones and local charms, three rifles, 12 rounds of 7.62mm special, 9 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, and three axes.
