Bauchi State to Revive Six De-boarded Boarding Schools Amid Low Enrollment

The Bauchi State government has announced plans to revive six boarding schools that were de-boarded due to low enrollment. Jemila Dahiru, the Commissioner for Education, made the announcement during an inspection in Dambam Local Government Area on Sunday.

Governor Bala Mohammed has directed the ministry to rehabilitate and renovate the schools using funds from the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE), a World Bank-assisted project.

Dahiru emphasized the importance of community engagement and expressed optimism about increasing student enrollment. The six schools set for revival include Government Secondary School Dagauda and Government Secondary School Futuk, among others.
