Bayero University Centre for Gender Studies Renews Mandate

The Centre for Gender Studies at Bayero University Kano has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing gender-related initiatives by renewing its mandate and strengthening its human resource capacity.

The Centre's Director, Dr. Ambassador Safiya Nuhu, disclosed that the Centre would be marking its 10th anniversary in 2025 and has intensified efforts in training programs, research, collaborations, and impactful projects. A notable partnership is the "Knowledge for Change" initiative, a collaborative effort with universities in Canada and Uganda aimed at addressing gender-based issues.

The Centre has also appointed Deputy Directors to enhance its operations, and the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, has assured the team of the University's continued support in tackling societal issues. The Centre's initiatives aim to promote family values, cultural heritage, and positive moral upbringing.
