Bayero University VC Professor Sagir Adamu Commends Staff, Hails Election as CVCFU Chair

Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano (BUK), has commended members of staff for their unwavering support and commitment to the university's growth and development despite numerous challenges.

 

The commendation was made at the university's 59th congregation meeting, held on December 14, 2024, at the Convocation Arena. The meeting provided a platform for staff to interact with the university's management and share concerns and suggestions on how to move the university forward.

Professor Abbas addressed academic activities, administrative matters, and project completion and execution. He acknowledged the difficulties faced by staff, including inadequate funding, inadequate infrastructure, and other logistical challenges.

 

The Vice Chancellor expressed appreciation for the staff's resilient dedication to their duties, which has helped sustain the university's academic programs and research activities. He pledged to continue working tirelessly to address the challenges facing the university.

Professor Abbas also highlighted the university's efforts in capacity building for teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as specialized training to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. He spoke on various welfare packages for staff, which will continue, including the shuttling of staff from town to university campuses.

 

In related news, Professor Abbas was elected as the Chair of the Committee of Vice Chancellors of Federal Universities (CVCFU), a testament to his leadership and commitment to the education sector.
